This trailer interested me mainly because of the sound devices.
The only talking in the entire trailer came from the deep voiceover at the end that kind of shocks you. Throughout the trailer there was no voiceover at all, until the last seconds, where the man says "Hostel" which suprises you. I found this a very effective use of sound because it frightens the audience, which is a telling sign about the actual movie.
Another good use of sound in the trailer was through the increasing pace. As the trailer moves on and more information about this Hostel is revealed, the speed of the soundtrack increases. The best part about the soundtrack is that it is quite creepy. We also see that when a caption appears on the screen towards the end, the soundtrack responds with some drums and an increase in volume that sound simultaneously with the caption.
The toe cutting clip also interested me. On the trailer we see an extreme close up of a pair of players wrapped around a victims toe. Just as the woman screams, the screen goes black. This leaves the audience wondering whether it actually happened or not, but it gives them a taste of the things to come.
